Dr. Stephen J.H. Yang is a professor of Computer Science & Information Engineering and the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at National Central University, Taiwan. He is the co-founders and was the CEO of T5 Corp, a company providing XML based Web services. Dr. Yang received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1995.

Dr. Yang has published over 150 technical papers in the areas of knowledge management, Internet technology, and e-learning. He is the co-authors of the book Distributed Real-Time Systems: Monitoring, Visualization, Debugging, and Analysis (John Wiley & Sons, Inc.) and the co-editors of the book Monitoring and Debugging of Distributed Real-Time Systems (IEEE Computer Society Press). His research interests include knowledge management, Web 2.0, semantic Web services, social networks, context aware & ubiquitous computing, peer to peer computing, and mobile multimedia.

Dr. Yang is very active in academic services. He is on the Advisory Board of International Journal of Educational Technology & Society, the Advances in Web Services Research Book Series, the Handbook of Research on Complex Dynamic Process Management, and the Book of Multiplatform E-Learning Systems and Technologies (IGI Global). He is also on the Editorial board of International Journal of Web Services Research, International Journal of Knowledge and Learning, and Educational Technology and Society.

Dr. Yang currently serves as the Workshops Co-Chair of IEEE ICALT 2008, IEEE SUTC 2008, and IEEE ISM 2008; and the Program Co-Chair of the 11th SDPS Transdisciplinary Conference Integrated System, Design, and Process Science 2008, and the ICCE Conference on Advanced Learning Technologies, Open Contents, & Standards, 2008. He also severed as the Program Co-Chair of the IEEE 2007 International Workshop on Web 2.0 and Multimedia-enabled Education (W2ME 2007), the IEEE International Workshop on Context Aware Ubiquitous Learning (CAUL2006), and the IEEE International Symposium on Multimedia Software Engineering (MSE2003).
